Iranian border police commander Brigadier General Ahmad-Ali Goudarzi confirmed on Tuesday that a member of of the Ansar Al-Furqan terrorist group had been killed in clashes in the border area between Kastak and Jakigor villages in the Rask County of Sistan and Baluchestan province.
The figure was a member of an alliance of terrorist groups spread in eastern Iran that contributed to a terrorist attack in the city of Bampur last year, Goudarzi said, adding that Ansar Al-Furqan terrorist had issued a statement on Monday acknowledging the death of the its member.
On Monday, the border guard commander had also declared the killing of another terrorist figure in an armed confrontation in Jakigor rural area which also left two other terrorists injured.
